3 Reasons Why Jamaica Should Be On Your List!

06 Dec, 2023

 Hello Mode travel crew!

I just recently ventured out to Jamaica for the first time. And I just have to say, I had the best time. I was genuinely blown away and I think you will be too. Here are 3 reasons you should visit Montego Bay, Jamaica at least once!

First and foremost, let's talk about the beaches – as a devoted beach lover hailing from the sunny west coast of California, I have high standards when it comes to coastal beauty. So, when I travel to tropical places I look forward to the beaches! Jamaica is home to some of the most serene and beautiful beaches. The sand was pristine and white; the water was the most gorgeous blue. What you've seen in those Instagram posts is the real deal – no Photoshop tricks here! So, if you are looking for a tropical getaway where you can relax on the beach with gorgeous views or do some snorkeling in crystal clear water, then consider visiting Jamaica.

Second, the food! Say it with me...Meg is a FOODIE! You know I couldn't write a blog without mentioning the food! Jamaica is the birthplace of jerk, a Caribbean cooking style of all kinds of meats and seafood in a delicious ballad of spices. I promise, you will not be able to walk past a Jerk stand and NOT order something! Jamaica is also known for their coffee. In the previous chapter of my life, I was a Starbucks barista. When I say I love coffee...I love coffee, especially Blue Mountain Jamaica coffee! I had one goal in mind when I arrived on the island - do not leave without coffee! If you would love to learn about the rich history of this island's coffee heartland, I highly recommend visiting the coffee farms. From one coffee nerd to another, a Blue Mountain Jamaica coffee tour and tasting should be at the top of your to do list!

Lastly, I was so impressed with how easy it was to get from the airport and to my hotel. Not to mention it was only a 15- minute car ride from the airport to the front doors of the resort. If you travel a lot, it's the little things like this that are so nice. Some travel days require you to do 3-5 hours of flying and then another 1-2 hours of driving to your resort. By the time you arrive, you are exhausted and just longing for a drink and some lounge time. But my travel day to Jamaica was so incredibly smooth and easy! The best part was not a long drive after sitting on a plane for hours! So, if you need a getaway from the Northern cold (I’m currently in Fargo as we speak, and oh-my-gosh...this California girl was not ready for the cold) I suggest talking to a Mode Travel agent about making Jamaica your next destination! This island gem not only boasts inviting weather but also extends a warm invitation to explore its beauty. Embrace the rhythm of Jamaica and let it be the backdrop to your next travel adventure!
