Halloween in the "Happiest Place on Earth"

Disneyland Halloween

What does the fall season look like at the "Happiest Place on Earth?"

Disneyland is known for many things, but their fall decor and Halloween party should also be on your radar!

Some notable changes to the park include the giant Mickey pumpkin on Main Street, U.S.A, the Paint the Night Parade, Halloween Screams firework & projection show, a Dia de los Muertos display, and the famous Haunted Mansion Holiday overlay, inspired by Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas.

Two years ago, my little family travelled to California to experience the magic of Disneyland during October, and I’m itching to do it again.

At the time, we brought our two year old, and I was pregnant with our second daughter. We took advantage of the photo pass photographers to capture the moment, and announce my pregnancy to the world ♥️

Since I was pregnant and our toddler wasn’t tall enough for some rides, we focused on the experiences. The food, the parade, the characters, the shows, etc.

However, there is something that adults and older children definitely won't want to miss ~ on select nights, the “Oogie Boogie Bash” at Disney’s California Adventure theme park is an extremely popular event. You must purchase a party ticket in order to participate, which sell out quickly.

Guests come dressed in costumes to enjoy Halloween-themed entertainment, treat trails, special character meet & greets, a frightfully fun parade, and of course some rides that stay open.

If you're thinking, "What about Disney World in Florida?" Well, they have a different Halloween party and themed attractions too. Both locations are magical in their own ways.

The fall season actually starts in mid-August at all the Disney parks, but September is honestly the best time to go for the fewest crowds. I know it's hard to get away when your kids are just starting a new school year, which is why the crowds are less. If you go on Halloween or any other holiday, you'll have more crowds, but you'll still have fun!
